I'm also a gamer who likes to dabble in geek culture without feeling like I need to know everything about an IP to be seen as valid.

Yeah, that's intentionally pointed. 🙄

I like Marvel movies. Don't bother asking me X-Men trivia if it wasn't in the cartoon series.

Same with anything involving the Star Wars Expanded Universe. Just don't.

I play games like Baldur's Gate III, BioShock, Fallout, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age. You know, the RPGs where you can be the hero, villain, or morally gray figure.

Video game "bad choices" aside, let's talk about the witchy side of The Mystic Geek... It's freaking complicated. 😅😭

I grew up as a Jehovah's Witness. I left around high school and found community among Evangelicals. As an ex-JW, though, I could see how manipulative some of their tactics were, and I pulled away. In college, I explored other denominations while minoring in theology. Eventually, all of this led me to embrace paganism—while keeping a critical eye on historical fact vs. folklore.

I've been practicing witchy stuff since the late 90's/early 00's.

I lean toward chaos magic, which focuses more on results than on following specific dogma. I look at manifestation from a gamer angle. You still need to do the work. Spells help you stay motivated and might nudge things in the right direction at the right time.

I was diagnosed with giftedness as a child, and with ADHD as an adult. My brain thinks in systems of actions and consequences, which helps me examine the various possible influences in a situation. Paired with divination tools like the Tarot, I can piece together what I can change (or directly influence) and what I simply need to face head-on. Y'know, the Serenity Prayer:

"God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change
the courage to change the things I can
and the wisdom to know the difference."

I'm queer (nonbinary, demigirl, gender-fluid, whatever term fits for "I occasionally feel gender dysphoria"). I think folks fear what they don't understand, or what doesn't fit into the boxes of their worldview.

One more thing before you dig into the rest of the site: I'm white-presenting, middle-class, suburban, and have a stable corporate job in financial services. These facts shape what it costs me to share my beliefs out loud—and whose experiences I can and can't speak for. Keep that in mind as you explore my site and services.
